Not Having Car Insurance is Very Risky and Potentially Costly

Thursday, February 2nd, 2012

One of the worse case scenarios on the road, apart from a fatal injury, is being involved in an accident with another party when neither of you have car insurance. In such an event, you alone will be responsible for covering the damage to your vehicle or having to buy a new one in the event that it is completely destroyed. If you try to claim damages from the other party, you will also be responsible for the legal costs involved. This is clearly not a very productive endeavor and will do your finances no good, so having insurance is so much more sensible. Any short term gains you have from not paying insurance premiums would be useless in the event of an accident occurring. Sadly enough, statistics have shown that the chances of being involved in an accident is rising which means it is more of a necessity than ever to be insured.

How To Avoid Car Insurance Fraud

Thursday, July 22nd, 2010

We may have been victims of fraud in one way or the other without us realizing it until it is too late. When that happens, all you can do is look back at the chronology of events leading to the crime. You do this with the hope that you can trace the signs that you are already being defrauded and probably try to learn from them. But for insurance companies, steps are being taken to prevent from losing millions of dollars from fraudulent insurance claims. They even spend so much on this anti-fraud measures because once they let their guard down, they stand to lose more. We know that car insurance fraud is probably one of the common crime committed. Insurance agencies do not just create an anti-fraud detection system to combat this crime but for the other frauds as well. They create a task force or unit to do in depth investigations leading to the insurance claim. This unit is oftentimes manned by former law enforcement individuals who have extensive experiences when it comes to chasing after the bad guys. Some companies engage in other ways of combating frauds hoping that in the days to come, people will be discouraged from ever committing one.

Filtering Car Insurance Search Results

Sunday, July 18th, 2010

You start by filtering the list of hundreds of policies, offered by dozens and dozens of insurers by premium. You’re essentially saying, “This is how much I have to spend on car insurance. Tell me what I can get.” But still, the spreadsheet has a list of hundreds of possible, viable, credible options. You filter it down further. “Let’s see what sort of list I can get when I filter by deductible.” Now you’re narrowing things down a bit. And then you start playing with the amounts that dictate the upper limits of what you can be reimbursed for, say, a collision. “Results: 0″. That’s where the tweaking comes in. You then adjust the deductible up a bit. “I can actually afford a lot more. I was just testing the boundaries here.” And you get a few results. Nice, but not yet quite there yet. You notice that some things are covered that you need to be covered.
