In accordance with recent news, 900 units of the 2012 men’s Giant Defy Advanced 0, 1 and 2 bicycles manufactured by Giant Bicycle are being recalled.
Other news outlets have also reported that a few units of the women’s Giant Avail Advanced 0, 1, and 2 bicycles also produced by Giant Bicycle are being recalled, but the number of affected units hasn’t been disclosed.
The recall was issued after the company realized the bicycle’s fork could break and cause a fall hazard to the riders.
The defective bicycles were made in Taiwan and were sold by multiple authorized Giant Bicycle dealers in the country. The company has stated that all faulty bicycles will receive a free replacement of the fork as soon as the rider attends to the dealers for an inspection.
I, a Los Angeles Personal Injury Lawyer encourage all riders to check their bikes for the recalled item immediately. If your bicycle happens to be affected by this recall, contact the manufacturer at once: don’t hesitate.
